BRUCE ALLEN KOPYTEK

We like to say that authors can benefit from a better return on their investment by a publisher who is primarily interested in them and their work.

Bruce Kopytek does not own a Bentley, nor a large mansion, and the company doesn’t occupy a penthouse office overlooking Park Avenue in New York. As a result, resources can better focus on getting good books into print, and on to market with a better return to the author, and to itself as well.

ABOUT

Bruce Kopytek has spent a career creating works of architecture that combine thought and creativity to produce buildings that are a credit to their locations and environment. During his forty plus years of experience in the field, he also developed his passion for books and began his commercial writing career in 2011. His first book, entitled Jacobson’s: I Miss it So! won a Michigan Notable Book Award in 2012. Through 2015, four more titles appeared which were likewise published by The History Press/Arcadia Publishing. From that point onward, he began to consider how an author’s work was valued within the traditional Author-Agent-Publisher relationship. Editions BK LLC will publish Hudson’s: Detroit’s World-Famous Department Store, Bruce’s latest work. It is a beautifully produced large-format hardcover book that was written and designed to appeal to those who recall the great Detroit institution with affection.

Born in Hamtramck, Michigan in 1958, Bruce Kopytek received his degrees in Architecture from the University of Detroit but has never really stopped learning and expanding his fields of interest. These include history, travel, art, and book collecting. He is a fan of classic literature and enjoys married life, family, ballroom dancing, and the two crazy cats, Gigi and Mimi that share a home with him and his wife, Carole.

EDITIONS BL LLC

Editions BK LLC is a small, independent publishing firm founded by Bruce & Carole Kopytek in 2022. While the company was formed to publish Bruce’s latest and upcoming works, it will take on other authors whose work it considers valuable. The business philosophy of Editions BK is that authors, who do a great deal of work to create a book, could be better served by a publisher that is independent, personable, and efficient.

Editions BK LLC will focus on non-fiction works about history, art, and travel. Fictional works that relate to these topics will also be considered. The Cottagers, a work of fiction by Michigan Author Shana Osler, will be the second book published by Editions BK.

Authors with an interest in working with Editions BK LLC are invited to send an e-mail to bkopytek@editionsbk.com. Please briefly describe your work (short synopsis, page/word count) and give the names of any books previously published. If we decide to further entertain your work, we will then ask for a manuscript submittal for further consideration.
